 Uniform Chieftain description ...

Direct to media printing at great quality, with the lowest possible running costs. The Uniform Chieftain is something of a revolution in UV flatbed printing.

Featuring a raft of innovative features, such as edge to edge printing, white ink as standard, UV gloss varnish for on-the-fly print finishing, class leading print resolution of 725dpi, and low low running costs.

Uniform printers are famous for delivering real world print solutions that meet our users demands. You want to produce print for profit, reliably and effectively.

First and foremost you will find the print quality of the Chieftain is second to none. Utilising 8 Spectra Nova printheads with 256 individually addressable inline nozzles, combined with 6 colours (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, Light Cyan and Light Magenta), Chieftain prints are smoother, sharper and more vibrant.

8 Printheads, 6 Colours. What's missing? On the Chieftain we use these additional printheads to include white ink as standard, with the option of both pre-and post white printing, or white plus a gloss UV varnish for on-the-fly finishing.

This makes for a truly versatile printer that can output directly to the broadest possible range of substrates, from standard display panels and foamboards, through to glass, coloured plastics, naturally grained wood, metals as well as all types of roll media.

The versatility of the Chieftain doesn't stop there. You'll also find a number of productivity enhancing features such as rapid changeover to roll printing, dual board printing (that allows different images to be queued and printed concurrently), edge to edge printing, print status traffic lights for unattended operation, and a whole host of features aimed at increasing your productivity and your profit.

Rapid conversion between rigid and roll-to-roll printing.

Media Saving Layouts with

You don't need to be an expert to print like one. With Troop SoftRIP 6.0 even beginners can jump straight in with our simple to use interface.

HIGH DEFINITION PRINTING WITH 16-BIT RENDERING

With SoftRIP's PSS halftoning and 16-bit rendering, you get the highest quality color possible with an inkjet device. If you thought your output quality was good enough before you are in for a big surprise!

Demanding color users like digital photographers have been buzzing about the benefits of 16-bit workflows for some time. Wasatch SoftRIP will be the first PostScript-compatible product to bring this premium color and precision quality to the inkjet printing process.

Why 16-bits is better

PSS and 16-bit color give you the one-two punch you need for premium output. Color subtleties and gradients in raster images are maintained with enormous detail. Vector gradients are perfectly smooth at any output size. With SoftRIP, tonal banding becomes a thing of the past.

How it Works

Other inkjet RIPs are based on 8-bit rendering. This means that color data and quality are lost in the printing process. SoftRIP's 16-bit color pipeline maintains your color data to produce output that is truly faithful to the original source image. The difference is particularly dynamic when printing with lower quality consumables.

SoftRIP will process files that are inherently 16-bits deep through color management and PSS halftoning with high fidelity color depth. Files that arrive to the RIP only 8-bits deep will also show substantial benefit. They are promoted to 16-bits of color depth prior to color management and are maintained at this high definition through halftoning.

Positive News for Profilers

Imaging Configurations (color profiles) made with earlier versions of Wasatch SoftRIP can be used with SoftRIP 6.1. And, in many cases, older profiles will provide improved image quality just by being used with the 16-bit color pipeline.

Digital Tool Kit

Troop's new Digital Tool Kit brings together the key settings you need to quickly ready images for efficient printing. Size, crop, check color gamut, tile and more without ever leaving the home screen. With navigation that easy, who needs a map?

A New Way to Work

Troop SoftRIP 6.0 creates new workflow paths to speed your production. Use a standard workflow, or combine them to create a hybrid workflow optimized just for you.

The Direct-to-Layout Workflow uses the full width of your media as a digital canvas. Drop images into the layout window and prepare them to print as a part of your overall print run. With Direct-to-Layout you can even use images already ripped as part of another layout without re-ripping.

Troop SoftRIP's Job-Based Workflow is now easier than ever. When you drag and drop a file from the file browser into your Job Window, all of the tools you need to process that image are right at your fingertips in the new Digital Tool Kit. Once your image is ready to print, one mouse click processes it through to your printer or saves it to layout with other images.

Server-Based Workflows use the RIP exclusively as a control center to manage jobs submitted from remote workstations through production. In 6.0, Troop SoftRIP's production command center moves to the main screen for easier access. With real-time job status and the ability to see RIP and Print queues for all units simultaneously, the Server-Based Workflow has never been easier.

Smart Nesting Made Smarter

Troop SoftRIP's Smart Nesting tools create efficient layouts automatically, whether you prepare your images directly in the layout window or hold single jobs to arrange later. Smart Nesting uses advanced mathematics to create layout designs that save media costs and guillotine trimming time. In version 6.0, Smart Nesting saves even more media by rotating un-RIP'd files any time that rotation will make the overall layout more efficient.

Queue Up Efficiency

Version 6.0 moves the Master Queues Manager to the SoftRIP main screen. To save you RIP time again and again, SoftRIP creates Queue entries for every image in your layout as well as the layout itself. Once your image is RIP'd you can drop it into any layout to reprint without re-RIPing. Any layout scenario you can imagine is easier with Troop SoftRIP 6.0.
