New high performance variable drop solvent printer offering impeccable production output quality up to 40 m²/h and top speeds up to 80m²/h.

The new Brigadier wide format printers are an addition to Uniform’s existing Uniform Lancer G2 solvent printer family. This new Uniform printer line consists of two models : Brigadier G2 64, offering a printing width of 1640 mm and Brigadier G2 88, offering a printing width of 2230 mm.

Uniform’s Brigadier G2 series printers print directly onto standard available uncoated vinyl, banner and soft signage. The machines are targeted at small sign businesses needing versatility or larger operations wanting to extend capacity while gaining flexibility. Application possibilities encompass corporate signs, stage and window graphics, backlit box signage, construction announcements, vehicle graphics, indoor graphics such as photo blow ups, floor graphics, etc.

The new printers feature a completely new industrial look, a new high end LCD display with blue background and white text and a large viewing window providing an excellent view on the output. The integrated light source is an excellent help for production monitoring and facilitates maintenance operations.

The Brigadier G2 utilizes Uniform’s high-performance solvent ink, specifically tuned for the sign industry. The ink will resist cleaners, detergents and commercially available degreasers as good as true solvent printer inks and offers an outdoor durability on compatible media up to 3 years without lamination. For heavy duty applications where mechanical stress is involved (floor & vehicle graphics), lamination is required. The Uniform solvent inks are available in 220 ml and 440 ml cassettes. The Uniform printers also accept Uniform’s Eco-Solvent Ultra inks, for users wanting to use the printer in regular office environments without forced ventilation.

The Brigadier G2 features two head sets in a mirco-staggered layout (one colour per head), allowing both speed oriented production work at impeccable print quality as well as top quality print work. Each of the eight incorporated drop-on-demand piezo inkjet heads has 2 x 180 nozzles. Each 180 nozzle row is delivered by an independent ink channel. Using Dynamic Variable Dot Imaging Technology, each ink droplet is individually adjusted to provide high speed and high quality with low ink consumption. Each head allows print resolutions of 360 x 360 dpi, 720 x 360 dpi, 540 x 720 dpi and 720 x 720 dpi.

The new printers incorporate Intelligent Interweaving print technology (i² - pronounced isquared). Ink is laid down in carefully optimized wave forms, not the straight lines as used by all other wide-format printers. This approach will drastically reduce or even eliminate typical inkjet printing artefacts such as horizontal banding, step mismatch banding, ink mottle, etc. In short, i² will allow bi-directional printing of all images, even the most critical jobs.

Our new Brigadier G2 printers are specifically targeted at sign shops looking for a flexible machine capable of producing both speed oriented production work up to 40 m²/h at impeccable printing quality, as well as top quality print work.

Our proprietary Intelligent Interweaving print technology enables a much more constant print quality, which apart from that is easily reproducible by the machine operator. Moreover, i² enables us to define guaranteed output quality, away from print passes and print resolutions. For the Brigadier G2, we have developed dedicated print modes and i² weaves. These print modes can be used depending on the type of image to be printed, the type of print job and the intended viewing distance (< 1 m / > 1 m / > 3 m / > 5 m). Unique in the Brigadier G2 is that it is possible to get production output quality on all available engine speeds. We are convinced that the Brigadier G2’s 80 m²/h top speed will be used for production of e.g. billboards.

The new Brigadier G2 series printers will be delivered as standard with an ink starter kit (2 x 4 CMYK) and a fully motorized heavy-duty unwinding/winding system for media loads up to 100 kg, allowing unattended roll-to-roll printing.

i² - a revolution in print technology

> Intelligent Interweaving, i² technology, provides impeccable digital printing quality for both Photo and Sign printing.

> Quick and simple to set up, printing with i² saves time and trouble while producing outstanding results. Ink is laid down in carefully optimised wave forms, not the straight lines used by all other wide-format inkjet printers. The result is a drastic reduction or even total elimination of the typical difficulties inherent in conventional digital inkjet printing. i² technology means the end of defects such as horizontal banding, step mismatch banding, ink mottle and bleed and the visible effects of missing or misfiring nozzles.

i² technology will offer you no less than 5 key benefits:

1) i² immediately offers you an overall better printing quality.

2) i² boosts user-friendly operation as it will vastly increase the workflow's operation tolerances so that you - the operator - hardly need to spend extra time to fine-tune your printer for obtaining top output quality.

3) With i² you will gain time and print any image bi-directionally, even the most critical sign jobs, which you would normally be tempted to print uni-directionally to avoid any kind of banding.

4) When printing @ 720 dpi 4-pass using i²'s SIGN weave mode, you will benefit from an improved ink density yield. Compared with painting a wall, 'traditional' printing can best be compared to covering the wall with a single thick layer of paint, whereas 'i²' is best compared with professional painting using multiple thin layers of paint or spray painting.

5) Dedicated i² profiles for 720 dpi 4-pass in combination with i²'s SIGN weave mode will allow boosting your colour gamut versus traditional printing. In combination with the improved ink density yield, you will also notice up to 10 % less ink consumption.

Media Saving Layouts with
Automatic Rotation

You don't need to be an expert to print like one. With Troop SoftRIP 6.0 even beginners can jump straight in with our simple to use interface.

HIGH DEFINITION PRINTING WITH 16-BIT RENDERING

With SoftRIP's PSS halftoning and 16-bit rendering, you get the highest quality color possible with an inkjet device. If you thought your output quality was good enough before you are in for a big surprise!

Demanding color users like digital photographers have been buzzing about the benefits of 16-bit workflows for some time. Wasatch SoftRIP will be the first PostScript-compatible product to bring this premium color and precision quality to the inkjet printing process.

Why 16-bits is better

PSS and 16-bit color give you the one-two punch you need for premium output. Color subtleties and gradients in raster images are maintained with enormous detail. Vector gradients are perfectly smooth at any output size. With SoftRIP, tonal banding becomes a thing of the past.

How it Works

Other inkjet RIPs are based on 8-bit rendering. This means that color data and quality are lost in the printing process. SoftRIP's 16-bit color pipeline maintains your color data to produce output that is truly faithful to the original source image. The difference is particularly dynamic when printing with lower quality consumables.

SoftRIP will process files that are inherently 16-bits deep through color management and PSS halftoning with high fidelity color depth. Files that arrive to the RIP only 8-bits deep will also show substantial benefit. They are promoted to 16-bits of color depth prior to color management and are maintained at this high definition through halftoning.

Positive News for Profilers

Imaging Configurations (color profiles) made with earlier versions of Wasatch SoftRIP can be used with SoftRIP 6.1. And, in many cases, older profiles will provide improved image quality just by being used with the 16-bit color pipeline.

Digital Tool Kit

Troop's new Digital Tool Kit brings together the key settings you need to quickly ready images for efficient printing. Size, crop, check color gamut, tile and more without ever leaving the home screen. With navigation that easy, who needs a map?

A New Way to Work

Troop SoftRIP 6.0 creates new workflow paths to speed your production. Use a standard workflow, or combine them to create a hybrid workflow optimized just for you.

The Direct-to-Layout Workflow uses the full width of your media as a digital canvas. Drop images into the layout window and prepare them to print as a part of your overall print run. With Direct-to-Layout you can even use images already ripped as part of another layout without re-ripping.

Troop SoftRIP's Job-Based Workflow is now easier than ever. When you drag and drop a file from the file browser into your Job Window, all of the tools you need to process that image are right at your fingertips in the new Digital Tool Kit. Once your image is ready to print, one mouse click processes it through to your printer or saves it to layout with other images.

Server-Based Workflows use the RIP exclusively as a control center to manage jobs submitted from remote workstations through production. In 6.0, Troop SoftRIP's production command center moves to the main screen for easier access. With real-time job status and the ability to see RIP and Print queues for all units simultaneously, the Server-Based Workflow has never been easier.

Smart Nesting Made Smarter

Troop SoftRIP's Smart Nesting tools create efficient layouts automatically, whether you prepare your images directly in the layout window or hold single jobs to arrange later. Smart Nesting uses advanced mathematics to create layout designs that save media costs and guillotine trimming time. In version 6.0, Smart Nesting saves even more media by rotating un-RIP'd files any time that rotation will make the overall layout more efficient.

Queue Up Efficiency

Version 6.0 moves the Master Queues Manager to the SoftRIP main screen. To save you RIP time again and again, SoftRIP creates Queue entries for every image in your layout as well as the layout itself. Once your image is RIP'd you can drop it into any layout to reprint without re-RIPing. Any layout scenario you can imagine is easier with Troop SoftRIP 6.0.
